This book is a continuation of Chinese Reading and Writing 4, and teaches 50 new Chinese characters and their combinations and usages. These 50 characters are very frequently used ones, and also have appeared in Mandarin Express series.
The structure of this book includes five core lessons with each presenting ten characters, one review to consolidate the previous learnings, and a stroke order chart for quick references. Comparing with previous books in the series, one major difference is that this book uses long and engaging stories to improve students’ reading comprehensions. Great attention is paid to make sure that all Chinese texts are written with the Chinese characters already presented.
On completing the book, students will have studied 270 Chinese characters, have gone through an extensive training on reading and writing lengthier and more difficult Chinese texts, and will have their confidence boosted.
